Practical answers
How the wedding budget estimate is calculated
Understand the household rounding, whole-naira arithmetic and boundary between a planning estimate and a confirmed vendor quote.
How does the calculator estimate the total?
It multiplies meal and drinks assumptions by the guest count, rounds the household count up for invitations, adds fixed services and applies the selected contingency to the subtotal in whole naira.
Is the calculator result a vendor quote?
No. It is a transparent planning estimate based only on the amounts entered on the page. Venues, caterers and other vendors confirm their own scope and prices directly.
Does Weddingly save the calculator figures?
No. The public calculator runs in the browser and does not save or send the figures. A couple can enter a separate budget when creating their private Wedding Studio project.
What the estimate includes
A straightforward view of the first major budget drivers
This calculator is intentionally transparent. It does not hide a vendor quote inside a single unexplained total.
- Meals and drinks multiplied by the expected guest count
- Invitation allowance based on the estimated number of households
- One combined allowance for venue and other fixed services
- A whole-percentage contingency applied to the subtotal
- A clear breakdown that updates as you type
- No saving or sharing of the figures entered on this page
